A Delicate Imbalance
about the Book
David Lavaliere may have finally found the woman of his dreams. But life for David has never been easy. He grows up in the shadow of the Cold War and suffers two injuries as a child. On of them is physical while the other is psychological. He suffers a severe concussion and then loses his mother to an incurable disease. These injuries combine to cause problems just as David has settled into a peaceful existence with Pamela, the most important person in his life since the death of his mother.
A Delicate Imbalance is the story of a man who seeks a sense of peace and understanding while having relationships with several women. Those include the first romance with the sensual and aggressive Dora; his first love, Michelle, during high school, Claudia, a beautiful and exotic South American graduate student, and finally Pamela Dorsey, whom he marries. The novel includes “several stories with the story” that focus on some of the secondary characters that add color to the main story.
